Car park Fine- owner but not driver-
Options
Hi All
I'm here for the first time so hello to anyone reading.
Yesterday I received a Charge Notice from Euro Car parks for the car my family drive, whilst I am on the log book as owner it was my partner that had parked and over stayed but this is the first communication regarding the ticket.
Can anyone confirm or provide a link to the law regarding ownership and parking on private car parks as I seem to recall I do not have to provide details of the driver at the time if I wasn't driving it.
Thanks for any help.
Dave

after a lot of trauling around it looks like I may have amswered my own question.
As I was not the person in charge of the vehicle at the time I do not have to pay the Charge. and as I have several witnesses where I work 20 miles away I would have thought this to be sufficient argument.
If anyone could confirm this I would appreciate it.

Perfectly correct however you're who they'll hound until its paid or you cough up the name of who was driving so they can get the letters instead.0 -

They may well pursue for a while and even threaten court, but are unlikely to actually follow this up.
The morally correct thing to do would be to offer payment for the overstayed period at the standard rate. However, this may be admitting some liability and the PPC would probably leap on this as a chance to get the penalty charge in full.0
