    Hi Jaynea:hello:

    Welcome to mse and forum.

Read Martin advise on Utilities and phone tab fora good starting point.

Firstly you need to dig out old utility bill (if you've not kept these, ring your current supplier and ask for details / copies of bill for last 12 months)to work out your yearly consumption in Kwh, this should be relatively easy for electric but gas often needs to be converted from units to Kwh( see gas bill for convertion calculations/ but if your struggling please post units on forum somebody will try and help)

Once you know your annual consumption use comparison websites, to find cheapest or fixed rate tarriff to suit your requirements. Some energy comparison site offer £30 per duel fuel switch. But once you find the deal for you there are some cash back site( top cash back, quidco, etc) which will offer between £75 - £50 for duel fuel switch(however these are not guaranteed (should only be seen as bonus (see advice in shopping and spending tab).

Please always check your terms and conditions, if you're unsure, please ask the forum.

Hope this helps, any question please post again.

Sorry re read my post this morning and clearly didn't read you post correctly, far too much wine drank last night, I'm afraid.

Check out social tariffs from your supplier but it may well be worth while checking if you can switch to better tariff.
