my story for getting credit (low credit score) it wasnt easy.i was turned down for a couple of credit cards last year so i got my credit report from check my file.com and appeard to have good scores all round,so i tryed again(refused)so i got my files on line with equifax and experian, what a shock equifax only had my name and adress score 120 out of 500 very poor no accounts active not on voters roll i am now score improved (350)fair ,so much for checkmyfile should be called check your wallet complained no refund .experian had a few searches score 120 out of 1000 (danger )so done a bit of research found that capital one ,mbna ,halifax, egg, virgin, citti, rbs, post office,ge capital credit cards search experian got refussed on all well my score can not get any lower than 120 and it did not.now for companys that search equifax i got a fair score there, applyed for barclaycard visa got acepeted in seconds 1400 ,tsb duo airmiles acepted 1500,littlewoods catalouge got that 300,additons got that 200,next directory again 200, my score with equifax was paying off, now my score with them is 400 good,so i checked experian again poor 120 maybe they just do not like me. so what have i learnt well i will never apply to those who refused me again in my life and more people should turn there backs on companys who refuse because you dont match there criteria well they dont suit mine from now on.so to end check your scores with the two of them(dont wast money on callcredit or check my wallett.com) go for the ones with highest score

???
Perhaps those who punctuate so badly should not be allowed credit cards??
Generally, if you have a low credit score, it's because you're not great with money, so perhaps you should be cutting up your credit cards rather than applying for more?!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I have to say, your OP is a little confusing as it reads like one long sentence - it might be easier to break it down into bullet points to make it easier to read.
Having saids that, from what I can gather you have had conflicting reports from two different credit agencies, and as a result you will only apply for credit with compaies who use Equifax for their searches as your score on there is better.
I am no expert on the differences between credit scoring agencies, but I am pretty sure you can contact them and ask them to amend any incorrect information they have on file about you.
It also looks as though you have applied for a lot of credit to test your theory (apologies if I am wrong on this) which does not seem like a good idea - you shouldn't really apply for credit unless you need it, and even then store cards are a very expensive way of borrowing, and should be avoided if possible. However, whenever you apply for creidt, a record of this goes on your file, so be wary of applying for too much, particularly in one go, as it will affect your chance of being offered credit later on.
And finally, whilst I can see why you would prefer to use companies who choose your preferred company, it may not always be a choice available to you, so it would be in your best interests to resolve any outstanding issues with Experian now whilst you are in a good situation - you never know when something might come up and it will be a lot more frustrating to resolve any issues when time is of the essence.
As I said - I am no expert on these matters so all this advice is based on a 'what would I do' scenario and I hope I have interpreted your post correctly!0 -
Credit scores mean zip.. Each lender has their own (secret) criteria matrix0

Reading the OP (or trying!) I was thinking the same thing - those numbers mean nothing - they are just an indication of how a lender may view you on a scale of 0-500 or 0-1000
If OP was already accepted with Barcleycard and Lloyds TSB, why ON EARTH are they applying for piddly ammounts of credit on store cards?!?!
I would suggest that many of OP's credit problems stem from actions just like this!I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
