Replacement kitchen doors

Has anyone bought just doors and drawer fronts to update their kitchen.
There are so many on the web it is mind boggling, although personally I don't know anyone who has done this.
If you have done it, is it a lot cheaper than buying whole new cabinets.
Thanks

This crops up regularly on here. The general concensous from those that have done it, and us in the trade, seems to be that it is not generally worth it. Often the costs are not disimilar to a complete replacement, but it might depend on the size of the kitchen and if the existing units are a "standard" size. If they are, and the hinge locations are the same, it may work out a little cheaper.

My Mum used Dream Doors she had a bit of a move around so a couple of new cabinets, New sink and taps, a built in oven housing she never had before, and all new doors and worktops. I think she paid £4000 but as her old kitchen was a very old magnet one with really solid carcasses and she liked 90% of the old layout she thought it would be better than a whole refit.
She is very happy with it I must say. It took the really old and dated Minster Pine kitchen with hopsack worktops (V 80's) and now she's got maple doors and granite style laminate worktops and it looks bang up to date.0 -

I've not done it myself, but when I've looked into it it's never been particularly cheap over the internet - by far the cheapest place has been B & Q, they often have deals on where the door prices start at £6 or so.0

did it with b+q doors at the last house, looked good. Had to drill a pilot hole and move the hinges in the cabinet, but not hard. General consensus from other threads is to get the handles from Ikea, as they are much cheaper than B+Q. Oooh, and from other threads, as well as buying the doors when B+Q have a sale on, speak to the trade desk, as they have targets to hit. Another thread on here said they trade team had told them to get the design done at the kitchen desk, let them price it up, then come over to the trade desk where they would beat the price from across the shop!! try that on the doors also.0

looking to do this, think a door is £12 a go..
we would need 3 bottom doors, 7 top doors, 3 draws..
