European Car insurance Long term

Most insurance companies will insure a car for up to sixty days at the time in europe. The problem is, I have a 12 month job in German and my partner has only been driving for a 18months, making insurance a problem.
Can anyone help?:EasterBun

Try Stuart Collins Insurance in Swansea. They will insure a UK registered car outside the UK for whatever period you require providing it remains UK compliant. That is you return to the UK for an annual MOT and pay UK road tax. You need to phone them as their website isn't up to quotes.

Make sure you're sitting down when they tell you what its going to cost though. You may find it cheaper to buy a German registered car and insure it through AXA europe.

Legally if you take your car to another EU country for more than 6 months then you should transfer your car on to that countries registration.

Hence why insurance for what you are trying to do is relatively expensive.

I am looking for European cover also because I like to travel often.

Stuart Collins quoted me 534GBP for a UK car with full European cover. Their policy is underwritten by Axa with a foreign use extension unfortunately it appears that Axa do not quote direct.

Remember that if you are using your car for business use this will notch the price up also.

Try to insure someone with a lot of experience on the car like your Father as this may help.

Italsure.eu is another company offering European insurance

http://www.ajinsurance.co.uk/ - I think they do this also but hard to get in touch with them, but good luck. I use Stuart Collins.

If you are a safe driver he also offer Third Party, Fire & Theft, - ok it's not cheap but what you want is an exceptional type of insurance.
