I guess I'm no longer with BT if Talktalk pulled all their wires out of the local exchange to cnnect me to their B/Band.
Can I get dial up, as a back up service, if so which one, anyone know?
Thanks

Hi classypaz, You still run on BT wires in the same building, the wires have not been "pulled out" just taken over by their engineers. Dial up will still work via your modem but I would remove or disable it as rougue downloads might just dialout long distance for you without your knowledge. Dial out to whom? you would a number and configure access in BB goes down then.0

nickj just wondered, what type of number do they use for dialup please?
Lots of rogues everywhere, those refiguring rogues!
ah I guess a 41/2 month take over sounds like a nice little earner, [that's how long their switch took!]
Thanks -
hope you're not one of the engineers!

You can get dial up here also: -
http://www.aardvaak.net/connect.htm
0845 number and no need to sign up or download anything.0 -
Or Orange.
In fact any ISP do free dialup.0 -
OK guys thanks.
Tried AAAARRRDvark it crashed my system
nay bother, I'll try another!0 -
I usually use this one for temporary access:
http://www.adial.co.uk/
Works in the same way as Aardvark. If the automated install crashes your system, they have manual setup instructions on the site.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0
