Hi all, I'm of to the Download Festival at Donington next week and want a shiny new lens (for my EOS 400D) for decent shots.
I'm looking at these two so far, and would appreciate any guidance, or pointers if possible.
I have my eyes on the following:
Canon - EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 IS
And this...
Canon - EF 75-300mm f4-5.6 USM III
Do I go for length (oo-er), or stabilisation?
Any other suggestions will be considered too.
Budget is £250 max.
Your help's much appreciated.

I got a refurbished EF 70-300mm F4-5.6 IS USM from the canon ebay outlet "canon uk1"and have been more than happy. Getting hold of a hood was a pain but I eventually got one. Highly recommended and I'm sur e I paid less than £250 for it. It's fairly larger than the 55-250mm model you're looking at, which would be my choice out of the two but if you're looking for a bargain alternative, check the:
A budget alternative (no IS) would be the

Just a warning, this is from their website T&C's
