Replace damaged floor in bathroom

Hi all, I'm hoping you can help me. I'm going to be having some work done to replace some damaged tiles and some wood floor in my bathroom (shower was leaking d'oh). It's going to be done by a relative of someone I work with who's recently qualified as a plumber after many years as a builder. He's had a look and thinks it's an easy enough job to cut out the damaged wood, put new in replace the damaged tiles on top, all in about 1/2 day to 1 days work.
As he's a friend it's been suggested that I just pay what I think it's worth but I don't know - has anyone got an idea how much a small job like this should/would cost?
