Have you noticed highlighted words in Internet Explorer which give info when you hover your cursor over them?

No - I can't even open Internet Explorer. When I try to open it (or Windows Explorer) it performs an illegal operation and gives the messages I detailed earlier.

Luckily enough I downloaded Firefox a couple of weeks ago so can still access the internet but I don't know how I can access my other files that I normally use Windows Explorer for i.e. to copy music files from my C drive to my MP3 player (which is normally my F drive)

After being away for a couple of days I have tried to open up Internet Explorer and it keeps causing an illegal operation and won't open.

The message I get is "Explorer has caused an invalid page fault in module kernel32.dll at 0187:bff9db61"
    Try this resolution

I am not sure if this has partly worked or not. I no longer get the kernel32 invalid page message but still get the BOH.DLL one followed by the DIMM.DLL one when the first closes down.

I ran Hijack this but they could only see two "potential" issues which I have deleted but this doesn't seem to have made any difference except the PC seems to be running a little slower - this may just be my imagination though.

I have scanned the PC with AVG, Adaware SE, Spybot Searth & Destroy, Trojanhunter and CW Shredder. All came back clear.

    Anybody got any ideas please?
  • had a similar problem to this once, I was advised to copy the Kernell32.dll driver from my reinstallation disc into the location on my harddrive.

Somehow it had been corrupted by a virus. Once I have copied it back into place it worked okay for me.

You may want to put the error message into google and search in groups, there are likely to be fixes in there.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for your advise - I tried putting my Operating Sytem Disk into the Computer but as my explorer isn't working I couldn't browse the CD to find the kernel32.dll. I tried "find files and folders" instead but it wouldn't find it. I don't know if I would need to reinstall Windows completely for it to be replaced.

I tried googling for BHO.DLL but there doesn't seem to be anything similar in the "groups" to help solve my problem.

Anything I have found all seem to suggest that BHO.DLL is due to a trojan/virus or something similar but I don't know how to get rid of it as all the anti-spyware/anti-virus are up to date but the scans keep coming back clear
  • Actually if you get too bogged down in this and it's taking forever it might be easier just to do a Windows Repair Install.

Thanks everybody for all your help. It is now fixed.

I did another Hijack This Scan and we managed to find and delete the BOH.DLL File.
