Homebase Refused To Take Cc Payment To Clear O% Interest A/c With Them

2 years ago whilst renovating my current home my partner + l purchased kitchen units oven hob + sink on a 0% buy now pay in 1 yr offer . unfortunately my partner and l split up before the year was up and as the agreement was in his name l did the right thing offering to pay for the kitchen [£3750 ]
the first payment was due in the july and so as not to incurr approx £800 interest on this purchase l rang to clear the account in full befor july
l was then informed that they would not accept a cc only a debit card ,cheque or cash !!!!
l could not do any of these so drew out the cash on my halifax cc [i now know not a bright thing to do as interest is done daily on cash!!]

can anyone tell me if they had the right to do this ???
at the time i had so much on my plate emotionally+ financially l did not question this
any advice would be much appreciated as im on a dmp and the cc in question is now in the debt recovery as l cannot afford to pay it :o:o

Correct most companies will not let you pay credit on credit; so using a credit card to pay a credit card.

Your best way would have been to do a BT to cover the balance; although incurred the fee. But probably would have worked out cheaper than getting cash on a CC

Bloody Hell! Are you saying you've withdrawn £3750.00 using your CC ? If you have the interest is going to be huge.

Your best bet will be to balance transfer the Halifax CC to a 0% card.
