Google toolbar

I installed the Google toolbar because of the auto-fill function, so that I wouldn't have to endlessly type my email address into various sites.
It works well, except that most of the time it will only auto-fill once, then I have to use "Options" "Restore default settings" to get the auto-fill icon highlighted again. This is a bit of a nuisance as I use Wanadoo homepage to access my emails (major problem with Outlook Express), and it requires my email addy to be entered twice.
Anyone know how I can get the auto-fill function to stay active for more than a couple of operations?

speaking as someone who hates add-on toolbars (it's a largely irrational thing based initially on the fact that some toolbars contained malware and other such nasties and the fact i like my screen as uncluttered as possible...and relax...) i'd just say delete / uninstall the thing and use IE's built in auto complete feature to do it:
Tools » Internet options » Content » AutoComplete
I'm assuming you're using IE?"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
IE's Autocomplete doesn't do the same job as Auto Fill though. With the autofill you include all your details, address etc and rather than typing everything in on an online form you just click auto fill and it does it for you.0

I have taken Google Toolbar off as it was causing problems with access to my internet banking. Has anyone else had this problem0

@scheming_gypsy - i see, didn't realise. i've always found that most companies name their input fields similarly so after a while autocomplete actually can do a reasonable job at addresses too
however, obviously the best thing to do here is download firefox and try out the autofill extension
see here: http://autofill.mozdev.org/ for info

Much food for thought there - thank you all for your input.
Nearlyrich, no I don't have a problem with my online banking (Natwest). I must try out hubby's Lloyds account to see if that is okay. What sort of problems have you had?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

It was suggested by the technical team at First Direct as being one of the things that could be causing my issues with logging into the banking secure sites.
I was just getting a blank page even when the site was an accepted site in Norton etc.
Seems to be OK now I have rebuilt my system, not tried it with Google Toolbar yet.....0 -
