More Cashback Card Questions

Hi guys, sorry for asking what might be obvious.

Can I put standing orders/direct debits on my cashback credit card and reap the benefits?

Also, how do I get the cashback? Is it credited to my card monthly? At the end of the year etc?

You cannot do standing orders or direct debits from credit cards.
You can do something call continuous card authority (CCA) which is like a direct debit but you do not have the Direct Debit guarantee and you have no direct control once you've give a CCA so for that reason I wouldn't recommend it.

Each card may vary as to how they pay cashback.
The three I've used pay it annually (Egg, Amex and Capital one) and quite often if you cancel the card you forfeit the cashback so you have to keep it open until it's paid.
Usually it's credited to the account but again will depend on the card.
If you have a credit balance you can ask for a cheque but it's easier just to buy some petrol or groceries with the money.

Also the "year" may be the anniversary of the account opening e.g. Amex and cap one or might be a fixed date e.g. Egg pay around March.
