Confusion over the YBS 6.5% 2 Yr Bond

Just in case anyone else is in the same situation as me, I thought I'd post this.

I opened a 2 year bond on 21 May with a small sum. I wanted to put a further £70k into it as soon as I received funds from another bond which matured on 31 May. I received the funds today, but when I went to the local Agency for YBS I was told that as the bond was now closed I couldn't add to it.

I then phoned the branch where I opened the account and was told the same thing. Finally I thought I'd just check with their Head Office and was told by them that although the Bond is closed, existing holders can add to it until the end of June. Apparently they hadn't made this clear to their local branches.
