There's one on EBay with about an hour to go for bids - currently £21, so that's a chunk off your savings.....

There's also another with >20 hours to go - current bid £9.95.

Then don't. Start with a tin or something and if you see something later on use that. I doubt you are going to fill up a tin of money within a week!

Have you not tried counting the money up, putting it in bags and banking it? It may lower the amount in the jar ;)

Look, it's the savings that is the important bit here, not what you save it in. I doubt very much if anyone has a large dimple haig bottle lying around with nothing in it, they would have passed it onto a friend for saving in. Get yourself something you like the look of - but it really doesn't matter what it is.
  • HI,

Why dont you ask at your local pub or resturant? they mite give you one i dont think paying out £21 to save in would be wise. Many years ago i got a plastic coke bottle & cut the top off & i save in it i reckon it must be 15 years & it holds a lot so recylce a lemonade bottle it i'l do the same job & happy saving:T :T

I know its not the same but you can often get lookalike plastic whisky savings bottles in shops like poundland etc. Might be worth having a look around.

I keep my coppers and 5p pieces in a green biscuit tin from Germany. Every now and again my granddaughters help count them up and put them in bags. BUT (and it's a big but if you're going to be serious about this) - which bank is going to take all your bags an bags of coins when you want to change them for real money. The supermarkets take 8p in the £ which I think is a bit rich. And a lot of banks are really not happy about taking in coin.
