The wife is looking for a savings account to pay in lottery winnings from work. When I say winnings I don't mean thousands or millions just the odd £10.....
They have to have some sort of account that allows at least two people to withdraw the cash and they work in a small town that has the following banks:
HSBC
Lloyd's TSB
Post Office
NatWest
Thanks in advance

Banks are not terribly good at savings accounts, unless they are fixed rate ISAs.
Don't you have any building societies in your town ?
You could have an agency for a building society in a local accountants, solicitors etc but you don't know it.
If you don't want to give your postcode, what area of the country are in ?0 -
We live near a major City that has all the top named Building Societies. It has been agreed that a trip there will not be a problem. So is there any you can recommend?martinman3 wrote: »Banks are not terribly good at savings accounts, unless they are fixed rate ISAs.

You can use www.moneyfacts.co.uk to search for instant access accounts.
Chelsea Building Society has the Rainy Day Savings account at 6.10% AER http://www.thechelsea.co.uk/savings/invest_rainyday3_intro.html with no restrictions if you withdraw less than £1000 total in the first year, any more and each time has a £10 fee. In following years there are no fees at all, but knowing Chelsea they will drop the rate and bring out a new issue.;)0 -
can anybody tell me if a group account for a club has the same protection in building society savings accounts as an individual account ie the first thirty five thousand pounds is covered if the building society fails?0
