stopped a CC transaction in error

OK made a big mistake.
CC company phone to report unusual use of CC and ask to check a few transactions.
All were OK but I didn't recognise one. So they cancelled the cards and said they would stop the transaction. A couple of hours later I remembered the transaction, though the date and time of use was 4 days out and the transaction is recorded as from their head office rather than the branch I used, so that is why I didn't recognise it originally.
I phone the CC company and they say that its too late to undo the stop. New card will arrive in a few days - fine I can live with that, but the CC compnay say I will have to reorganise the payment of that transaction.
Now the actual transaction was to pay for car parking at a chain of car parks. No way I can contact the company, what will happen when the payment isn't honoured? The company won't have my address, though they may have CCTV for the car reg, if they bother to search for the sum total of £3.90! Would they be able to access DVLA details?
I don't want to be stung for charges, so what do I do?

The credit card company should send you a form to sign to endorse the fact that you do not recognise the transaction. Could you send this back unsigned with a letter of explanation?0

Apparently they won't. The transaction cannot be unstopped they say.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Could you go back to one of the car parks and ask for the company details?
Or would you be able to check the assessor's valuation roll and get the owner and details from there if you know the address (or even street?)After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

NCP airport carpark, can't go back there as too far.
If I could find a contact number, would they be able to find the transaction?
My concern is by notifying them of the problem, I then get charges and hassle that otherwise would be written off.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. They have your card details so may see this as fraud if you do not try to contact them. Not too sure though, but they would be able to get in touch with the bank if they wanted to.
You had to cancel your card - happens all the time if lost or stolen. They may still write it off, or may waive any charges as you went to the trouble of contacting them. I'd say better safe than sorry. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Now they've stopped a transaction that I had authorised! GRrrrr!
Phoned them up and they denied ever seeing that tranaction!
To think I was grateful that Egg hadn't withdrawn my credit all those months ago.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
