Plastering quote

I have stripped all my kitchen walls back to bare brick as the plaster was crumbling and blown. The room is an L shape with each leg of the L around 3.5 metres long.
My plasterer has quoted £560 to render the walls using sand cement, waterproof, then skim. I'm not sure what he is doing re waterproofing, but assume that will just be for the walls near the sink etc.
Does this sound like a reasonable quote? I know the plasterer fairly well so trust him, but this was a bit more than I expected.
