Child beneift when living aboard

Hi, hope someone can help me?

Ive moved to France with my daughter we are here all the time as she is in school here, Husband is still in UK working living and paying UK taxes. am i entitled to child benefit (family allowance) if yes how do i go about claiming back the last 2 yrs?
read the paper and heard about the gov paying for the pol kids.
any help in this matter will be great as Ive tried getting in touch with rev and customs and I'm getting no where fast.

    Its child tax credits that can be claied if working in uk living abroad.

    I believe that you'd be entitled to the French equivalent of child benefit; there's been a recent discussion of this on a French forum. https://www.totalfrance.com
    If you use the search function on there then you'll find the answer quite quickly.

    We knew people in Spain who were entitled to claim child benefit. The husband worked on the offshore rigs and paid UK NI and income tax. I am sure you can claim.

    I only have one child, can only get child benefit if you have 2 or more also not paying any France taxes yet as husband pays all in UK, I'm not in the French system IE no job as yet.

    Sorry, didn't read your post carefully enough. You're right, only French CB for second child onwards.

    Don't believe you can have it back dated.

    I have read of cases on this board saying they had a 14 year and never claimed and could they get it back dated. And I believe the answer was no.

    Most benefits are only backdated at the most is 3 months.

    I did as was told by child benefits I'm not intitled to it i said about husband still living working in uk so am still miffed

    i lived in germany for 3 years (only differebece no ex was in the army) i could claim uk child benifit and tax credits but i also got a top up of german cb kindergeld as they give more there than uk child benifit

    if i doubt do the forms etc worse they can do is say no
