A & L new savings rate for e saver

i had opened an e saver with A & L earlier according to Martin's advice on high Saving's rate. According to that, i was planning to dump it and go to kaupthing edge from the 1st of june as the promotional interest rate was going to be lower from the 31st of may.

while i was browsing through the A & L website, it shows that the promotional rate is till August 2009. when i cross checked the best savings account page here, it has been updated and it also says until august 2009.

what i need to know is - is this promotional rate ONLY for new customers or everyone irrespective of how long you have been with them.

could anyone pls advice me

the promotional rate elapses according to the T&Cs when you opened the account.

its a neat way of making people think they are getting a higher interest rate than they actually are
