Hometek floor steamer and costco

I just joined costo and bought a steam cleaner from them, mainly to clean the one carpet of the house, and its rubbish. the carpet is not even damp after using it and looks no different at all!. I know costco are supposed to have a good returns policy so can i return it if i am not happy with the performance of the product?

Why not take it back and ask them.

Take it back and get a full refund. If they ask simply tell them you don't like it, but they won't argue - that's one of the benefits of Costco membership.

just to update:
I took back the Hometek steam mop and told them that i had used it and it was useless for carpets (which is what i bought it for) and they gave me my money back..straight away with no fuss at all!!!!! brilliant i was amazed!

I've just bought one of their Hometek Steam Mops, but not yet been able to get it to work. The water gets hot in the tank (I can feel the heat through the front of the casing) and the pump makes a noise when the handle is pulled back, but no steam comes out of the bottom - the pad is dry and cool, where as I would expect it to be hot and damp (oh er Missus ). There was an initial hiss of steam when I very first used it, but then I realised I probably hadn't let it heat up enough, so I returned it to the upright position and left it to continue heating. Since then not been able to get even a tiny hiss out of it.

Am I doing something wrong, or does it need to be returned?

Well I returned it today - was a bit miffed as I wasn't offered a replacement at the CS desk, but was assured I would get it at the Special Offer price I paid last week if I picked up a new one and told the checkout op it was a replacement - no such luck - they don't stock them any more
