Hi, I haven't heard of bark busters so can't comment on that, but if you ask your vet for advice they should have a list of approved behaviourists. If they assess the problem and you are insured, depending on what your insurance covers you might be able to claim for it, its worth a try. I only know of this because my close friend had a problem with her dog with nerves and noises and this is what she did. I know this won' get your money back, but hope this helps and prevents people taking advantage again.
  • Hi there, well done for taking a rescue in! It is such a shame you have had a bit of a rough deal - after all you were doing this with the best of intent, but all is not lost, please do not give up on the lovely Jasper, we can help you!

Have you tried contacting the Kennel CLub for details dog training and there is a dog newspaper which comes out weekly called Dog World, there are many trainers in there who do things the gentle way, with you there, and all the trainers have to pass different levels of training modes to qualify, so I am sure you will find something there, failing that there are many clubs (breed) who will no doubt help you. MIDLAND ROTTWEILER CLUB EASTERN COUNTIES ROTTWEILER CLUB LASER THE ROTTWEILER CLUB, they are all on the internet so they can help, but I would go down the Kennel Club route to start, we have Rotties and love them to bits. Good luck! If you still cannot find one, please let me know and I will do all I can to help you, please don't give up on him - Jasper will be ok with you as its clear you love and want to help him. :A

OMG I can't believe I have just stumbled across this thread...1 year too late!
We had our jack russell !!!!! from a rescue 18 months ago she was 6 months old. After a couple of weeks she had a fight with our other russell. We rang the rescue after comimg home to blood up the walls  they recommended a trainer they had been using...she was from barkbusters. We were now attached to the pup who was adorable most of the time so paid the money. Woman came out and was really thorough (I thought, but I am easily led - lol) The techniques worked immediately but in hindsight Holly was probably just in shock that I shouted at her!
Anyway to cut to the chase there have been constant scraps between the two, vet bills for injuries, the trainer came back once and emailed advice often (same rubbish usually) and then remarkably when it came close to our year up she stopped and we never heard from her again. The result of this is we are now going through the painful decision of what to do next and my husband has said she must go back to the rescue tomorrow. We are heartbroken after trying so hard with the two of them we have to let Holly go as its the kindest thing. So thanks for nothing Barkbusters:mad:
