I have a Sony Dav550 surround sound dvd system
I was under the impression these days that these sort of systems play mp3's, i have tried creating a DVD with MP3's on using Nero but the DVD player says it cant Read it.
Now admitedly i cant see anywhere on the dvd that says it plays mp3's, so it may be just that im assuming that it should, does any one know any different as when this system came out it cost nearly £600 two years ago and i see that £20 dvd players play Mp3's.
Or is it just me being a doofus and the machine doesnt play MP3's??
Any advice most appreciated, even if it is to say it dont play MP3's u idiot lol

is that the system you mean? (not sure if the extra 's' is a model thing or just that you missed it out:)) if so then it says it will play mp3's.
generally dvd players tend to need a very particular layout in order to be able to play mp3's or access pictures on cd's - have you tried putting the mp3 files just on the root of the disc and not in any folders (long filenames or folder names also cause problems iirc)
otherwise it may be related to the fact that the disc wasn't finalised when you burnt it (not sure if this affects things in this case but it's possible), are the files definitely in mp3 format and not wma etc etc - and that's all i can think of from the top of my head - check the manual for file naming conventions and folder structures required.
edit: should get my eyes tested - didn't realise you were burning them onto a dvd - this adds the possibility that your player doesn't read rewritable / writable dvd discs - the link above suggests it doesn't. use cd's instead."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
yeah thats the one!! will give it a go trying CDRW's and see if that makes a difference cheers for the advice guys
