How do I get offers?

in Credit cards
Hi
I am looking to get a new Credit Card for the sole purpose of paying a monthly bill but I need to be able to spread the repayment of this single transaction over 4 weeks. My bank account won't be able to support it so I will initially need to supplement the repayments via some savings.
EG - 1 monthly bill payment £200 divided by 4 weekly repayment instalments of £50.
Is there anywhere I can look or how do I get companies to give me a preferential offer?
I dont want a big credit limit I would be happy enough with just £250 - £300 just incase I cant make one repayment in a month. Thats all I want the card for! Obviously if I could also benefit from points collecting or frebies or bonus offers all the merrier.
Thanks

I think any credit card should achieve what you need - deferring repayment for over a month.
Credit cards work on the basis that you make purchases which are not billed until a later date. All purchases made up until your billing date is reached are added to your bill, this is sent with a notice to pay an amount on or before the payment date. What this means in practice is that you can have up to (say) 56 days credit before having to pay (it depends on the particular card).
A worked example:
Billing date=1st of month
Payment date=25th of month
Purchase (£50) added 1st Sept
Purchase (£50) added 8th Sept
Purchase (£50) added 15th Sept
Purchase (£50) added 22nd Sept
Purchase (£50) added 29th Sept
On the first of October the bill will be produced with a total of £250. If you pay this entire amount on or before the payment date you do not have to pay any interest.
I'm not sure you need a preferential offer since it sounds like you do not intend to create any debt. If this is the case then looking for the best cashback or rewards card makes more sense (there are articles on the main site that discuss these).
Hope this helps.0
