Ok, here's where i go into a rant
because i don't know
* if the applicable amount i'm using is correct (it's the one on my current housing benefit form)
* i haven't put any disregarded income into the calculation so it's probably wrong! I don't know how much to put in, it was £20.45......but no idea how that's arrived at
* I don't know if i was supposed to use my net income, or the income before tax and nat insurance is taken out...
* don't know if i've used the correct tax code when calculating my net income anyway - as it's changed on my pay slip to, i think, 603L (not got pay slips with me to check at the moment)
* the amount of housing benefit i get is more than it was on the calculator that Tucker provided....
is it me or does everyone find this stuff complicated
I need to be fairly confident about this because i have to submit my change of hours rota 0 -
Hope no one minds me keep posting but it helps to 'think out loud.'
According to what Eager Elephant said earlier, the above calculations would be correct......
as if it's worked out as i would receive 65p for every £1.00 i lose then that would be £9.10 difference:
monthly wage on 33.02 hours = £806
monthly wage on original hours = £832
difference = 26
65p x 26 = 16.9
26-16.9 = 9.100 -
well i called revenues today and a lady said all i have to do is inform them of the change in hours and they will change the housing benefit. She said it would go smoothly and i wouldn't have benefit stopped.....0
