Windows Vista & Belkin Wireless Adapter

I have looked through some other posts, but can't find any info on this?

I have a brand new computer. It connects to the internet fine using a hardwire.
When I attempt to the Belkin Wireless G adapter it just goes mental! It beeps constantly, attempts to download drivers, but fails etc.
I have downloaded the driver only option from the Belkin website (as advised by them), but that doesn't seem to do very much. When I go to 'connect to' on my start menu it doesn't show any network.
Belkin are NO help, and MESH computers made me factory restore it all. I really hope someone can help me!

Have you followed the instructions to install the USB adaptor here?

YES! The problem is that Vista doesn't seem to like the software, so it doesn't complete the CD installation. I then went onto their website and downloaded the drivers for my particular version, but to no avail.
I'm seriously beginning to think that even though Belkin claim it's Vista compatible, it isn't.
