WMA probably won't play on either the phone or the walkman without converting.

Older sony units used to only play their own atrac stuff, but they finally saw sense and they will now, along with everything else in the known universe, play normal MP3.

emusic.com is decent. MP3 downloads, no DRM, and a decent selection. Website/downloader is easy to use as well. If you sign up for a trial via quidco you get £4 cashback and 25 free tracks. If you just straight sign up for the trial via the site you get 50 free tracks.

It did, but it's going/gone drm-free, and it'll have MP3s to download too.

I have downloaded some itunes plus tracks, so DRM free and at no extra cost so I've put these on her walkman. Now she can have a play...
