waiting in for tradesmen

This is only a little vent, a pet hate of mine, waiting in for tradesmen.
I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for an upholsterer from Argos to come and inspect my 5 month old sofas which are faulty. I've waited nearly a month for them to find the time to call and I have an appointment 'before 12'. I did ask whether I could have a fixed time as I need to get to work, but was told they would mark my file' as early as possible' but other than that could only guarantee before 12.
So here I am, waiting. I have to go to work at about 12.45, so am getting a little nervous as the time creeps on towards the 12 o clock cut off time for morning appointments.
I wouldn't mind but it isn't my fault their sofas have a design problem and I am half expecting to have a problem persuading them to do anything with them so am getting tense anyway.
I hate waiting for tradesmen...
