have looked on ebay but works out around 35.00 with postage.


does anyone know of a cheaper alternative

can you customise a normal ventian blind by fixing the botton rail to the frame of the window to keep it in place.

what about putting a roller blind and securing it with a cuphook at the bottom?

You can use a roller blind with a cuphook - on my son's velux window, it's stuck down with velcro down the sides though, because where we had to fix the roller mechanism meant that the light came in through the sides otherwise... If you can get one to fit inside the frame, then obviously that should work better.
Personally, I've had enough of this (depends where yours is, I guess...). I think you've done pretty well to find them for £35, the ones I saw were nearer £70!

velux now has a number of competitors supplying blinds to fit thier windows, they are available in places such as Makro, try you local independant blind shop. If you want good quality product then you cant beat the genuine Velux ones, better long term value than the things sold in Argos. Search around on ebay and places like loft blinds

Funny over last few months ive been doing my house up with blinds and I also have a velux branded window. Ive used for other blinds in my house (https://www.expertblinds.co.uk) so I looked over there site and couldnt find velux blinds, so I called them and to my suprize and have just started selling them. They told me that they are shipped direct from velux within 7 days, they offer a price beat, so if you find a velux blind cheaper, then they will beat it for you. Thats great to save that extra money.
