what are your system specs?
CPU speed, amount of memory etc.....
The following is from microsofts website:
"Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Home Edition
• PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended
• 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)
• 1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*
• Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor
• CD-ROM or DVD drive
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device"
Although they say minimum 300MHz CPU, I personally wouldn't install it on anything less than a 750.
Hope this helps.
Sorry I didn't actually answer your question. About £75 for an OEM version of XP home.Women priests. Great. Now there's priests of both sexes I don't listen to - Bill Hicks.0 -
Hi clanger,
I hope that you don't mind, but I am going to move your thread over to the techie board, where you may get more replies.

£59 for OEM xp home here: http://www.softwaregalaxy.co.uk/ just the first link from google so probably better offers to be had if you're willing to dig a little."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0

I'm not sure how much the postage is on software galaxy as it wanted me to sign up before they tell you.
E-Buyer is £62.56 delivered.

I've used them a few times for the same product and was very happy.
