I get an email almost every day with the subject line Re[..], in the brackets is always a number and the sender is always a person's name. I just delete these without opening but what concerns me is that the email address that they are sent to is not always MY address, it is part of it but not always the full correct email address.
How do these emails come through to me with the incorrect address?

They use Bcc (Blind carbon copy) so you can't see the list of addresses but it requires a "to" address to make it work.0

these phishing mails are getting more and more each week. i feel really sorry for someone only just learning internet and email, hope they discover this site quickly!!0

It is worth fighting this by using https://www.spamcop.net Sending a SPAM email (with complete headers) to this service automatically generates complaints to the administrators of any ISPs involved in generating the SPAM.0
