Stapeley - I think your comment to me was a bit harsh.

Basically I am trying to pay off the debt early. I do fear that some people may choose trying to get their CCA as a way of getting out of paying a debt that they know they owe, which isnt really fair is it?

I am not saying that everyone who asks for their CCA is doing this, nor am i saying that you yourself have done/are doing/ are inciting people to do this.

You do provide some good advice on your posts.

Can not see why you don,t want to request a CCA to check everything is correct , but you are prepared to only pay part of the debt ? If you agree you do owe that amount ,surely is it unfair to only pay some of it ?
    Why is that harsh ?

Ok, so I sent it Recorded Delivery and the tracker states that the item was delivered on 02/06/08 (I sent it Friday). Mind you, it doesn't say that it was signed for??

Maybe send it to the registered address, because it's more than likely that it will be the same address. They're bound to reply if they think you can get it paid sooner :D

    Good Luck

Stapley most rational people know who they owe money to and how much, if you have nothing helpful to say leave the thread alone.

:D Just being a little argumentative sorry ! My veiw is and the view of an APPEAL JUDGE , is if a loan company do not follow the correct format and proceedures laid down in the CC ACT , ie no signed C C AGREEMENT . Then any monies can be deemed to be a gift .
The banks are trying to use the courts to get out of paying back unfair charges , so "do unto those that do unto you .":D

Sometimes you need to read between the lines . BH you should know how much encouragement and help I have given to people over the last 6 months . Since my thread LETS ALL ASK FOR OUR CCA of dec 2007 I believe it has encouraged and helped many people . I know through my advice ,some on this site have found that thousands of pounds of debt is unenforceable ! good luck

Stapley I dont want to request the CCA as i do not wish to go to court. I just want this debt cleared as soon as possible.

If the DCA agree to me not paying all of it, then thats up to them. I am simply making a request that they consider this. I am not trying to get out of paying the full amount. I acknowledge teh debt is mine (after all i signed up for the credit card, i used it to buy crap... sorry i mean useful stuff :rotfl: )

Anyway... im not arguing about it.

I dont think thats right in the grand scheme of "moral justice".

After all the debt was racked up by the people and therefore they did borrow the money and did enter into an agreement (whether the DCAs etc. have copies on file).

That to me is more of a way of getting out of the debt then requesting a full and final settlement.
