EON Annual Discounts

I've just spoken to EON and confirmed that currently, on Energyonline Extra Saver v3, I get a total of 21% annual discounts.

At current prices, my annual consumption last year would have cost £374 for electric and £199 for gas, giving me a total bill after discounts of £453

On Price Protection v15, I'd only get 11% annual discounts, so the same consumption would cost me £538 after discounts.

So bear in mind it's not just the unit price you need to consider before switching.

yes but its classed as a prompt pay discount so if you dont pay the bill within the first 14 days you lose the dicount.

they started doing this earlier this year to get people to pay their bills quicker and also to get more people to switch to dd where you would get a 9% annual discount on dual fuel.

Doveman, sorry, i didn't read your post properly last time...

on price protection you can only get a maximum of 9% discount which is for being dual fuel and paying by monthly direct debit. You only get a discount for managing your account online if you are on either the Energy Online or Energy Online Extra saver tariffs. Even if you have signed up for paperless billing you do not get this discount on price protection.

I think someone gave you wrong info there, call up tomorrow to clarify and i would ask to raise a complaint as I am 99.9% sure you have been given incorrect information there.

Agree with you. I currently get 19.6% on V5 .... but V14, for example, tops out at 9%.

I should have realised the information I was given was dodgy as the website does state 'up to 9% discount'. Mind you, it doesn't tell me anything about my current tarrif's discounts, nor does it give any information about EnergyOnline Extra Saver v7's discounts.

Anyway, if the max discount on Price Protection is 9%, I'm even less inclined to switch! I will call them again to query this.
