Well isnt that down to the fact that the date between the statement being produced and the due date being a set figure?

A year or so ago I would have agreed with you, however there has been a trend recently for Card Companies to reduce the number of days that you have to pay the bill. A sign of the times perhaps

Well remember that Virgin is an MBNA run card.

Personally I like MBNA due to their high Credit Limits, low Minimum Payments and Super Balance Transfer facilities.

However, there are many reports on here that suggest that they do infact apply "dirty tricks" from time to time. There have been loads of reports of them putting the variable APR up to 34.9%, and this is not the first time that there have been reports of them altering Due Dates for no apparent reason.

I think MBNA are great if you get them to work for you, but let them get the better of you and I get the impression they will bite back

Altering Due Dates is one of the latest "tricks" being utilised by the card companies.

The have bought your payment Due Date forward hoping that you don't notice and pay on the usual day (02/09/2008), then you would incur a late payment fee.

However, you have spotted it so won't make the payment late and won't earn them £12 ;)

Doubly so since they're using 31/8 as a payment date, that's a Sunday so won't the actual date be 29/8?
