Hi there,
Im being given an apple mac (lucky me)
I am wondering if you have to have a specific broadband to run internet on??
We only want the broadband and we are not intrested in home phone or anything like that. We live in a 1year old house, and have never had an active line coming through, although the phone ports are there.
Will there be anything we need to set up with BT etc?
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Kindest Regards
Lucy

You will have to have a BT line installed and pay line rental, even if you don't want to make voice calls. Broadband is simply another service provided over the line from the exchange to your property.
When you have the BT line, you can arrange for an ISP to provide your broadband service. see here for a selection of providers. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
