I have not given Southampton City Council my permission to allow a sub-contracted private investigation services to access my credit file.

This practice is so underhand that only a few people in the special project at SCC knew about it...the general council tax benefit department didnt even now the project was going on let alone the methods used by their agents to spy on people. There are issues around civil liberties and data protection to name a few.

I have raised it with my local Councillor and to say he is quite shocked is an understatement.
