Hi there
is there any software ( free if possible), that can help in making an interactive dvd game,
so you can design it on the computer, burn to dvd, then play in the dvd player ?

For noobs, you could try Macromedia Director. It's a pretty simple application to get to grips with and it's got it's own easy to understand scripting language. You can create a simple game with that and put it on DVD. As for playing it on your DVD player, you can do a search for plugins on the web once you get the program.0
