Just stick it back on the market and keep it there till sold, I made a big mistake when selling, got mucked about for 3 months by a couple(of *****), they pretended they had sent all details to the solicitor but hadnt, pretended a survey was happening that wasnt, god only knows what goes through peoples heads, I think some people pretend they want to buy your house out of boredom, maybe its some sort of hobby for them.
Aha, so thats how you do a signature!

Yep, back on market until exchanged. (One advantage of having multi estate agents, as the others will keep looking for a buyer even if the one who has 'sold' the property stops trying.)

Some people string you along whilst trying to sell their property. Others may reckon that you will get so desperate after a long time that they can gazunder at the last minute.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Its your house you can do exactly what you want with it.

If someone demands you take it off the market tell them to write you a cheque for £1000 which you will give back on completion, or knock off the final bill.

Theres bound to be a million flaws in the idea, but you will be able to gauge their real sentiment by asking.

I'll repeat the first law of selling: Never, ever take the house off the market until contracts have exchanged.

I had a seller refuse to take it off the market after he had accepted our offer so I withdrew my offer. Six weeks on, we've had an offer accepted on a much nicer place (and they've taken it off the market!) but that first property is still stagnating in the estate agent's window to the point where he has had to drop the price. So I don't think he'd agree with your first law at this point in time ;)
  • Well it gets worse. I finally made an appointment with the valuers on Thursday at 9am for them to come Moday morning.

Then 2hrs later, at 11 on Thursday, they rang back, and said that they had been told by the mortgage company not to come out, and would not say why this was. So I have rung the EAs, who say they have contacted the buyer, who claims not to know why this is, and said he would ring the mortgage company to find out why. Still no word from him. Hmmmmm, I am being well messed about here.

So I have told the EAs to put the house back on the market, and have asked them to contact tight couple and ask them if they will meet me halfway on the price.

    I am so stressed.......... :o

I think you're doing the best thing. If the poo couple start like this, how is it going to end?! Hope you get somewhere with this other couple. Fingers crossed. :)

Don't let the last gloom and doom merchant worry you
He and the others bat for the other side
and say anything to put anything down if it weren't the housing market it would be something else

What position are you in? Are you desperate to move for i.e financial reasons?
or you just want to move on?

Just thought I'd offer my 2p on this one as a FTB currently going through the motions. It seems the OP's estate agent is not pulling their weight. They are taking a commission and should be checking out things like the applicants' eligibility and ablility to proceed.

My vendors EA's were hot on the draw. Within a day of my offer being accepted they were on the phone asking details of my solicitor, mortgage etc. You would expect serious buyers to know these things quickly.

On the flipside, having given them these details I would be unhappy if the property loitered on the market for much longer.

I wouldn't want to shout quite so loud if I read the Daily Express.
