Someone has to ask, so it might as well be me.
Like a few more people, I have a Panasonic Viera HD television with freeview.
I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder, this also has freeview.
I now read/see there is a new box (name escapes me) that will allow HD programmes to be shown.
Maybe someone would enlighten me if 1) one of these boxes would work for me, 2)how many stations currently show programs in HD and indeed anything else I should know about. I'm thinking that if I've got the TV/recorder suitable, then should I now move on with more.

Are you referring to FreeSat?
If so, although it's free to receive, you'll have to fork out for a satellite dish and a receiver. I believe you'll get roughly what you get with Freeview, plus one HD channel from the BBC, possibly followed by one from ITV soon.
If you hold fire for a couple of years until the digital switchover, you should eventually be able to receive some HD channels on Freeview, but I read somewhere that there will probably be only four due to the large amount of information that needs to be transmitted for HD"The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0 -

I believe when HD is available on Freeview you'll also need a new Freeview box that can display HD content. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
