Dealing With An Offer To Buy Item Now

I have just listed an item which I was not expecting much interest. The item has one bid from a buyer with a rating of 1. I received the following message today:
"hi:)
I was wondering if you were interested in selling the bag now and what would be the price for it if so:) "
I am interested in selling the bag now as the buyer is obviously keen and I do not expect much further interest during the auction. However where do I stand reference the current bid and how would I set up the transaction if I agreed a price with the above interested party?
Would this be unfair on the current bidder? I would like to add a buy it now price for the potential bidder but guess I can not revise item now I had a bid?
I would appreciate any advice concerning this situation
Thanking you all in advance

Hello, I don't think you can do this without breaking the rules - as eBay says a bid is a binding contract and this means on both sides!
If you want to take a chance (and lose a genuine buyer perhaps) you can end the auction early by stating there is a fault with the item etc. Clearly only you and the other person would know the truth.
Does the potential buy-it-nower look genuine? Is that a feedback of 1? That seems low to me and it is quite easy to generate that level of fb for yourself. So I'd avoid this offer and politely ask them to bid.0 -
I think you would have to cancel the existing bid and then revise it to add a BIN option. Not sure if that is strictly allowed though?
To be honest though, you've got 1 bidder and a BIN offer within 24 hours. Previous listings for the same bag have sold at a higher price than the current bid. I'd be inclined to let it run and see what happens.:www: :: MFi3 ::

You are allowed to cancel bids and end the listing early. Reason: error in original listing (e.g. listed as auction rather than BIN).
You then re-list item as BIN and hope someone buys it.
Perfectly acceptable according to ebay, and bidders cannot leave feedback (since they haven't won anything).
Personally, I think you need to consider how genuine the offer is. The person making the offer may not accept the BIN. I would be inclined to politely advise the person that the item was listed as an auction. As the item has already received a bid, you are unable to add a BIN option and that you do not wish to end the auction to be fair to the existing bidder(s). Invite the person making the offer to place their maximum bid in the auction and who knows, they might actually win it at a much lower cost."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
