Sar - i've replied on the other thread, but when you see the doctor they will know exactly what to look for, what changes in the skin etc.
I know its hard to say ignore what you've seen, but the internet can do awful things to the mind medically

I'm not going to say 'try not to worry' as it is always impossible to do just that, even more so when you have had something major affect you like you have.
What I will say is that you have done exactly the right thing - that is make an appointment to see a doctor. I am confident it will all be fine, but I wish you all the best anyway.
Oh, and I didn't realise you had spent six years in the US...or that your birthday is tomorrow. Happy Birthday in advance.
