Can old car parts be taken to a scrap metal dealer?

yes im sure you can,but strip it of all plastic and rubber parts first,they will take money off for them having to do this. dont know how much you will get for it though....work permit granted!0

Yes, a scrap yard will happily take them (along with any other bits of metal you have)
But, unless you have a significant quantity then the money you get will probably not cover the petrol to get there and even less worthwhile if you cost your time too.
Also, and based entirely on my own experience, if you go to a scrap yard in an ordinary car or van you have a one in five chance of knocking a hole in a tyre on one of the sharp bits of metal that seem to litter the ground.
All in all I think the greenest thing to do is just throw it in the bin

If it's just plain steel then IMO it's not really worth taking less than a few hundred kilo
Also as above there'll be loads of broken glass and metal shards likely to damage your tyre0 -
Yes, take your scrap metal, it has almost doubled in price this year..you may well be surprised by how much you get.;)0

If I take it will report back how much I get. Got to get my brakes to non-leaky status before I can drive anywhere
at least I'm getting some exercise now
