Free mars bar(merged)

I got a similar offer from Lucozade. A free bottle at ANY paypoint outlet. I tried 10 shops, and all looked at me as if i was mad, some even laughing at me for thinking i would be given a free bottle of pop on the say so of a mystery text.
So be prepared to be embarrased if you join. You will certainly need to be thick skinned, as paypoint will have told everyone but the retailers.0 -
I posted this previously:

You might want to print this : http://www.shopscansave.com/How_to_complete.htm
and take it to the shop unless you want blank (or worse) looks. Never did get my Mars bar0 -
thepearce... in fairness MSE Archna's thread dates from 12/2/08!! However, it would have been handy for the team to merge/ read your thread as it has folks experience of attempting to use this electronic coupon...;) as far as I can make out it is just not worth the effort... :eek:0

Its true, they do look at you like you are mad when you try to redeem the code, but I got my free Mars bar in the end. They also send you regular texts for further money off of products. Haven't used it since.Nice to save.0

Hi all,
Martin's Money have pointed me towards this thread in the hope that I can answer some of your questions and concerns.
Apologies to anyone who has had difficulties in redeeming their Free Mars Bar or any of the other offers available this week.
SHOP SCAN SAVE and PayPoint have worked tirelessly to educate retailers and all 15,000+ retailers were sent training packs explaining the service and how it works. It has come to our attention that some of these packs did not arrive or were not read by the correct member of staff. We have a rapidly increasing 34,000 members, so this appears to be a minority of stores.
We are doing our best to visit all the stores personally and over 2000 London stores have been manually trained and the rest of the UK is being worked on.
Please let us know (customerservices@shopscansave.com) if you have visited a store which would not accept your mobile voucher, along with its name and address and we will speak to the store and train them as quickly as possible to allow you to redeem. If you prefer, let us know beforehand and we will pre-empt your visit with a training call.
In the meantime details of how to redeem for the retailer can be viewed at
http://www.shopscansave.com/How_to_complete.htm
In summary - feel free to print the short instructions below which the retailer can use to redeem.
To redeem a SHOP SCAN SAVE mobile voucher:
1. Press FIRST TIME TV LICENCE AND OTHER
2. Press SHOP SCAN SAVE
3. Press OFFER REDEMPTION
4. Scan or manually enter the customers mobile barcode ID
5. Scan the products on offer
6. Press ENTER
7. Press CONFIRM
The terminal will then dial the server to check the validity of the offer and print a voucher showing the amount to discount. 5-6 seconds.
The retailer should be aware that they should keep this for their records and that PayPoint will reimburse this amount straight into their account. It is viewable on the Z Report etc.
Thank you for your understanding and we do apologise for any inconvenience some of you have encountered.
Feel free to e-mail customerservices@shopscansave.com or text 62111 with any other feedback. :T

They will send an electronic voucher to your phone, to be redeemed at any paypoint convenience store.
If you go via www.pigsback.co.uk you can get 50 points for signing up to the site and an extra 20 points for using the voucher.
Edit: I think you might have to go via pigsback for the mars bar
I have just returned from the PayPoint shop, cluctching my free Mars bar in my hot little hand (Yukkk !). It worked like a charm ! Thanks - you have helped me to grow fat and happy !

I have just read the Terms and Conditions. If you get fed up with receiving the texts. You can also stop these as follows:
- sending an e-mail stating "OUT" and your mobile phone number to info@shopscansave.com

Training mission accomplished in Ringwood, using instructions posted above. Three members of staff now know how to redeem the voucher.
Consultancy fee of 1 Mars bar received. :j0
