I would be wary of buying the cheapest 6ft fence,as if it's too flimsy it won't last long if we get a gale. The year before last a few of my neighbours lost some of their fencing panels when we had a storm & during some windy weather last year a couple more of my next door neighbours fence panels have taken a bit of a battering & look as though they may disintegrate should we get some stormy weather this winter. I have a good sturdy fence, so fortunately haven't suffered in this way.

You can order online from B&Q, who do delivery, but their prices are not that competitive. I'm not sure if Screwfix do fence panels, but it may be worth checking them out
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

  • Try your local builders merchants. Most keep a range of panels. They should be around the same price or better than the DIY sheds but the accessories - bolts, brackets etc will be a lot cheaper.
As Cattie says - don't go for the cheapest unless you want to fix the fence regularly.

Have a look at the feathered edged fence panels.
I know they are a lot dearer, but will last 4 times longer than the cheap waney lap fencing.

Check the local builders merchants and places like Jacksons, Jewsons etc as they will do free delivery whereas Homebase, B+Q charge a fortune :)

Also as mentioned dont go for the cheapest , i just bought a 6ft panel recently and it was only an extra £2.50 for the much better version :)
