Hi ,
wondering if someone can help. My screen on my laptop Dell latitdue D630 has gone really dark and I can't get it to light up. I can just about see what is on the screen but very difficult. How do I fix this as It was working fine this morning. I put it in its case and took it to a meeting where the problem occurred.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If its really really dark, It sounds like your backlight may have gone. The screen is lit from behind by a light which can fail. A warranty repair maybe, since they are still selling it, i'm guessing its fairly new ?
There are also keys on the keyboard to increase/decrese the brightness, usually pressing the FN key and the keys with the * (Sun) symbols.0 -
You should be able to adjust the screen brightness by using the function key and the F keys. Check your instruction manual. On my Toshiba its Fn and F6 and F7.To travel at the speed of light, one must first become light.....0

thanks for your help,
I think it may be the back light as I have tried the Fn and sun button and turned it off and on, all to no avail.0 -
You can double check by using an external monitor and check picture quality0

Power saving modes can dim your backlight too. There's someone in my head, but it's not me0
