Best way to sell a car on ebay
Options
Hello,
What is the best way to sell a car on ebay, I have a Zafira in good condition and i have taken heaps of photos to list via photobucket.
I am thinking of a 3 day listing aution format with a reserve?
any views or is a clasified ad better with say £5000 or best offer?
thanks in advance

list it as honestly as possible and dont be surprized if it gets low bids, you probably wont get what you want for it. and remember you cant pull a car auction in the last 12 hours of the auction....work permit granted!0

surely you need it on there for at least a week so people get the weekend to come and look at it if interested, i wouldnt buy a car without seeing it first
Finish the auction at 8.30 on sunday evening, people never have anything to do on a sunday night so will more likely be able to place a bid
Also if it finishes on a sunday night it will give people a chance to offer you cash if they come and view it0 -
IMHO the golden rule is never list it withouta start price or a reserve of the minimum you would be happy with for the car.:money:
That way you'll not be tempted to back out off the deal if your £5k car only raises £1k;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Tempting I know, and I won't say I haven't done it myself in the past, but, it is very easy to pick this up from the bidding history and genuine buyers can soon smell the rat:eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Yeah but it still shows up as commom bidding between the 2 of you even if identity is annon;)
Easy to find fishy smells;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

and it is also against ebay rules... shill bidding is it?
theoretically, if your friend is the only bidder on it, they are legally bound to purchase your car..
i've sold a few cars on ebay, not as higher value as that, but I always start it at what the bear minimum is that I want for it..
Luckily, all have sold above this, so i've been happy!
thing with ebay is, that normally it is the lower end of the scale of what the car is worth, unless it is something a bit different, which a zafira definately isn't!0 -
I'm not sure about the legal situation in the UK, but shill bidding is a criminal act in the USA. If it is illegal here then you should all be very careful about a) confessing to criminal activity in a public forum like this or b) inciting others to commit a criminal act. If I were you I would consider deleting your posts here.0

Just stick it on at the bare minimum you'll take for it, on a 10day listing
IMO don't bother with a reserve or classified listing0 -
also make sure you do not accept paypal for car sales otherwise you will probably get scammed!0
