Dulux Paintpod

Ok. I've decided that my 3 year old new detached needs a lick of paint. My wife and I are more DINY rather than DIY enthusiasts.
Anybody bought/used one of these Dulux Paintpods? I do understand the cost of paint is more expensive, but that really isn't the issue. More so, Is it any good?
Cheers

Hi,
I have used one and think it's great. V. easy to load paint, the roller doesn't splatter paint, it's easy to clean and it comes with a triangle-edged shape brush to do corners.
Any other queries, feel free to PM me.

I'm just waiting for somebody to report that they have used normal paint in one just fine and I will be rushing down to B&Q.
It's not as much the cost of the paint that bothers me (OK so it does) but it's the lack of colours. Maybe if I can get paint mixed like all the other Dulux paint to any colour I can think of, I would be more tempted.
OR
Give it a few months and you just know that Crown etc will all have their own versions out which means the prices will come down.
In any case I think the idea is great (especially when I have a house with 14 magnolia rooms waiting to be painted.0 -
Will be watching this thread with interest.
I would love to know if the pods are refillable - i.e. with normal paint. The lack of colours puts me off at the moment.

Dulux will be extending its range of colours for the pods and will also include colour matching, when this will be I don't know. I think they are waiting to see which colours are popular before they bring in others, after all they do take up quite a bit of shelf room in the stores.

I have one that i am currently using. After two nights of use, i can report that i have not had one splatter!!!
Just do not hold down on the button for too long.
Am trying to find the extension pole for ceilings but all DIY shops around here are sold out.
Yes the colour range is limited, but you can find a colour that almosts matches the correct shade (at least i can)...0 -
rdpro - Akzo Nobel bought ICI a while back so they are now the same group. As I recall the plan was to run the two brands at least in the short term.
If they had more colours I'd consider it on the basis of cleaning alone - I hate trying to get paint out of rollers or pads!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
AkzoNobel has bought ICI back in January but they also have to sell Crown in the UK due to EU regulations0

A quick update for you.
After using it for 3 nights, i am taking it back (hopefully B&Q will take it).
It is very clean; not one splatter, but on a newly plastered ceiling, i had 3 coats of paint pod paint on and it was still very patchy. I put on one coat of normal paint and it covered beautifully. And to be honest, it was no slower, if anything the cleaning up was quicker; i always found that i had to clean the paint pod twice and wash the roller seperately in between washes.
I just think the paint is too thin.
Sorry, just my opinion.....0
