Asda credit card/fuel discount

I went to fill up at Asda tonight as they are the cheapest around and there was a notice posted that said that they could not accept the Azda credit card due to technical dificulties. The Asda I use is at Thurmaston in Leicestershire. I wondered if the technical dificulties were widespread or localised and would Asda be withdrawing the 2p off per litre?
Perhaps the technical difficulty is to do with nobody using their Asda card anywhere at all unless the fuel discount is awarded?
As a regular high mileage customer, it will be interesting to see if the technical dificulty that plagues just the holders of Asda credit cards continues at just the Asda petrol pumps!:):):)

AOK at ASDA Cribbs Causeway and Longwell Green, both in Bristol. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Not specific to these "technical difficulties" but I had an instance at the Fosse Park, Leicester station where the "pay at pump" pumps couldn't read the Asda credit cards. I called customer services to complain, and they credited my account with the 2p a litre discount. OK it was only 42p, but every little helps!
If you filled up at Asda anyway and paid with another card, give them a call.0 -
On a slight tangent.... does anyone know how the 2p per litre discount works if you have some vouchers to use for part of the cost of petrol. For example... spend £40 on fuel, pay £20 via vouchers, the remaining is spent on the Asda credit card. Does the 2p per litre get calculated on the £40 total or the £20 credit card? Read the T&Cs again, but found no mention of how it works.0

There was another thread on here about this not so long ago.
Apparently there's been a known issue affecting some Asda cardholders at some petrol stations, not all customers and not all stations. It seems Asda are taking their time fixing whatever the problem is, although it may not be entirely their fault as the card is issued by GE Money.
If you do a search for that thread I'm sure I remember somebody posting a fax number they were given for customer services so that they could fax through the receipt for the petrol and they would be manually credited the discount they would have received.
Probably best to check that with Asda though, just in case it's not a genuine fax number or that it no longer applies etc.0 -

When I pay using my card the discount isn't taken off until I actually put the card into the Chip&PIN machine. It automatically recognises the card and then the discount shows up.
As the discount isn't applied until I put the card into the machine I presume it would only give a discount on the £20 which is paid by card, and not on the £20 paid by vouchers.
I could be wrong though.0 -
