onetell

I recently received an unsolicited call from Onetell trying to persuade me to change my home calls to them. Brad (yeh!) from Asia said that I needed to give him my bank details in order to receive any information from them about the package on offer. He became almost abusive when I refused and thought I was behaving in an unreasonable manner. I checked with my bank and they told me not to get invovled as this was no way to do business. I can't believe that anyone responds positively to this method of doing business. Is this what people do in order to sign up to Onetell? They did seem to have a good offer but I could not take it any further. Anyone signed up to them?

  • Sounds like an overzealous Onetel Sales Guy.
They are ok but they are in the process of being sold,so perhaps they should be avoided at the moment.
Who are you with at the moment?,when do you make most of your calls?,do you mobiles or intl calls.Let us know and someone should be able to recommend a better landline deal then Onetel.

Call me old fashioned, but being asked for my bank details by any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry who rings me up out of the blue on behalf of a company I don't do business with, sounds dodgy for a start.

I wonder if it was really a call from Onetel, or from some scammer? Hmmm...
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I have a BT landline and my calls are through Tesco. Most of the calls are in the evening and local. My two boys are making an increasing number of calls to mobiles but in general the bill for the calls is only about £30-£40 a quarter.

Can I do better than Tesco? I find it difficult to compare the different rates. Sometimes the line rental can be more than my calls.
