flat battery : Ford Mondeo (P reg)
Hi
My car has been standing for about 3 months untouched ... as I have been away for a few weeks and just never got around to using it on my return
The battery was bought new last year in Halfords, so it was OK
Now it's flat
I've borrwed a charger, but just want to make sure I do it right
Q1 Must I disconnec the battery from the car
Q2 The charger has options for 6V and 12V .. I assume car bateries are all 12V ... Is this correct
Q3 Will an overnight charge be enough ?
Q4 Will the battery be OK once I start using the car again; ie charge itself

If the battery was bought new last year, you may well be OK after a few hours charge overnight.
A1 No
A2 Yes for Mondeo
A3 If the battery is not beyond charging
A4 Should be if it will hold the charge:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

What ever you do if lerave the battery on the car keep a window/door open.
My old Merc would immediately lock all doors when the charger was turned on and you feel a right numpty with the keys in the car and no way to get in and I tell you on the Merc it took the patrol man 40 mins and that was with wedges into the top of the door..they never were the same again......lol0 -
I prefer to get a jump start off a mate then drive round a bit, much easier!
allthough i do like driving about
If you do this make sure you park on a hill the first time you turn it off so if the battery isnt fully charged you can bump start it!0
