Bathroom mirror wall

Hi everyone!
This is my first post so if I've done it wrong I apologise!
I am looking into getting the wall in our bathroom, above the toilet and sink, completely mirrored. The bathroom is small, so I'm hoping this will make it seem a bigger space. Does anyone know how much this might cost? Or any good companies? Being first time buyers, our funds are very limited!

You mean one big sheet of glass cut to the exact shape of the wall?
Just a standard large mirror would do the job and would cost substantially less I would think. You could always buy such a mirror and try it one the wall and take it back if you don't like it.
My bathroom is only 6ftx6ft and a mirror about 3ftx2ft does the job fine.
Removing clutter and brightening up the room will also give the effect of more space.

I recently had a mirror cut from the local glaziers to be inset into a customers tiled wall. It was 1000 x 600 and is 6mm thick (which is the thickness of the tiles so that the whole thing looks flush when it is inset. It cost £49 but looks really good. Mirrors cut to size ain't cheap but are worth it.

Good solution and neat. However if you are having a cut mirror (or even a factory finished one) in a bathroom you need to make sure all edges are sealed. This is easily done by carefully painting the edges with a clear varnish eg ronseal. You can get specialist mirror seal but varnishing is just as good. If you get any on the face of the mirror clean it off immediately with white spirit. The reason to seal the edges is that over time moisture will seep between the glass and the silvering on the back. This will cause 'blackedge' which I am sure you have seen on old mirrors.

  • if your after some cheap mirror glass i find it a lot cheaper to buy a mirror in a frame from tescos asda the range etc etc and take the glass out and throw the fram away!

Im my bathroom i used silicone sealer to stick it to the tiles. I just used duct tape for the first couple of days until the sealer had dried
